Option 1 :Making An Impression and Bite

1. Taking Impressions

  • Materials: Use light and heavy body polyvinylsiloxane (PVS) or any other high-quality crown and bridge impression materials.

  • Arches: Ensure impressions are made for both arches.

2. Ensuring Minimum Thickness

  • Minimum Thickness: The DentaBite splint requires a minimum thickness of 1mm.

  • Clearance Check: Verify that the supplied MMR has sufficient clearance between opposing cusps to achieve the 1mm minimum.

  • CAD Adjustment: If clearance is insufficient, the DentaBite CAD will virtually adjust the opening to meet the 1mm requirement.

3. Recording MMR

  • Vertical Opening: Record the MMR at the desired vertical opening.

  • Centric Relation: Ensure MMR is taken at Centric Relation (not CO) to minimize errors from the closure pathway and eliminate the need for a face-bow transfer.

4. Controlling Vertical Dimension

  • Tools: Use leaf gauges and an anterior stop or jig to control the vertical dimension.

  • Anterior Stop: Create an anterior stop on the incisal/lingual aspect of the central incisors.

    • Purpose: This sets the desired vertical dimension and prevents the patient from over-closing.

Option 2: Sending intra oral scans

Scan your patient's mouth with an intraoral scanner and send the STL files and order form to the DentaBite team via WeTransfer. We're excited to share that our new online portal, which will streamline this process, is coming soon.
